About African Musical Arts
African Musical Arts, now a member of the Intercultural Music Initiative, was founded in 1993 with a mission to promote diverse music repertoire by African-decent composers. The organization and its founder, Dr. Fred Onovwerosuoke, have had the honor of collaborating with the music team on actor Robert De Niro’s film, The Good Shepherd (Universal, 2006) and in 2008 partnered with Oxford University Press to publish the series, Songs of Africa, a much sought choral music collection for performing groups and music educators across the US, Europe and beyond. Our newest major project, the Performing Arts Exchange, is our legacy to the City of Saint Louis, for decades of generous support.  African Musical Arts gratefully acknowledges continued generous contributions from the Missouri Arts Council, the Regional Arts Commission, National Endowment for the Arts, the Trio Foundation, Boeing Corporation and a growing number of private donors. We invite you to consider supporting our unique services to enrich the musical arts industry.    Click here to donate. THANK YOU!
